Guelph falls to Waterloo in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Waterloo Siskins pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Guelph Hurricanes on a clutch goal by Christian Mroczkowski.

Mroczkowski was all over the ice for Waterloo, as he registered two goals in the win. Mroczkowski's tallies came at 7:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Waterloo and 29 seconds into the fourth to make the score 5-4 Waterloo.

Waterloo additionally got points from Kyle Betts, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Waterloo included Chase Campbell and Jordan Kreller, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Eric Cimino, Connor Bodnar, Anthony Guido, Danny Hanlon, and Josh De Farias, who contributed one each and Matt Martin and Gary Mantz, who each chipped in two.

Guelph was helped by Ryan Migliaccio, who finished with two goals and one assist. Migliaccio scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 9:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. The Hurricanes earned a power play opportunity when Cimino was put in the box for charging. Patrick Kudla picked up the assist. Migliaccio's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Waterloo with 12:00 left in the second period. Kudla assisted on the tally. Guelph also got points from Chad Herron, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Guelph also got a goal from Sam Natale as well. More assists for Guelph came via Sheehan Kirkwood and Matt Nightingale, who contributed one each.

Evgeny Kiselev made 25 saves for the Siskins on 29 shots. Waterloo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Guelph's Jason DaSilva stopped 19 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Hurricanes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
