The Fort Erie Meteors and the Thorold Blackhawks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Fort Erie made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Wade Kenny at 7:57 of the third period. Thorold's power play was ineffective against the Meteors' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Fort Erie was led by Kenny, who had one goal and one assist. The Meteors stifled the Blackhawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fort Erie could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 23 minutes in penalties during the game. Fort Erie additionally got points from Holden Garlent, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jared Marino, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Mackenzie Passero as well. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Richard DeMarco, who had two and Alex Hurran, Vincent Robbins, and Frankie Frank, who contributed one each. Thorold's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Fort Erie power plays. The Blackhawks were helped by Nick Sacco, who registered one goal. Sacco scored 14:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mitchell Mendonca assisted on the tally. Kyle Langdon also scored for Thorold. More assists for Thorold came via Greg Christmas, Francois Plamondon, and Anthony Postiglione, who each chipped in one. The Meteors' Liam Conway stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. For Fort Erie, Robbins was ejected from the game. Ian Shorthouse rejected 18 shots on goal for Thorold. The Blackhawks ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Thorold ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Sacco was ejected from the game.
