Huge game by Morrison boosts St. Catharines over Fort Erie, 5-2Jack Gatecliff Rink Fri, Nov 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Catharines Falcons' Tyler Morrison had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 5-2 win over the Fort Erie Meteors. Morrison beat Liam Conway with a shot 18:41 into the second period on the power play to make the score 3-2 St. Catharines. St. Catharines had gained a power play chance when Josh Micallef was whistled for cross checking. Broderick Kelly provided the assist. Morrison dished an assist on Ryan Doucette's goal that made the score 2-1 Fort Erie at 13:17 into the first period. He then added assists on Tyler Hildebrant's goal at 12:36 into the second and on Nick Halagian's goal at 35 seconds into the third.Fort Erie's power play was ineffective against the Falcons' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Meteors were unable to stop St. Catharines from sending pucks towards the net, and the Falcons eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. St. Catharines also got points from Hildebrant, who also registered one goal and one assist. Paolo De Sousa also scored for St. Catharines. More assists for St. Catharines came via Justin Felker, who had one and Jake Evans, who had two. Fort Erie was helped by Devin Darrah, who racked up one goal. The Falcons incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. St. Catharines ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nicholas Dozzi was ejected from the game. Conway recorded 33 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
