London downs St. Thomas, 6-2

Tanner Ferreira had two points to lead the London Nationals to a 6-2 victory over the St. Thomas Stars.

London excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Nationals outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, London averages 3.1 goals per contest.

London also had goals scored by Derek Di Iorio, Derek Todosichuk, Brent House, Matt Bean, and Tanner Lafrance, who scored one goal each. More assists for London came via Anthony Kotsovos, Justin Murray, Kevin Madden, and Mitchell Kreis, who each chipped in one and Kyle L Robinson and Colin Wilson, who contributed two each.

St. Thomas struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 28 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays.

The Stars were helped by Jesse Anderson, who grabbed one goal. Anderson scored 19:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 London. Wade Russell picked up the assist. Matt McJannet also scored for St. Thomas. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were Anders Adzija, Jordan Babb, and Andrew Chambers, who each chipped in one.

Logan Ferrington rejected 28 shots on goal for the Nationals. London incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nikolas Dampier recorded 19 saves for St. Thomas.
