DaSilva stymies Cambridge, Guelph wins 4-1

Jason DaSilva stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Guelph Hurricanes to a 4-1 victory over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Guelph's penalty kill excelled, as the Hurricanes gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Guelph was led by Cameron Stokes, who tallied one goal. Stokes scored on the power play 19:54 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Guelph. The Hurricanes had gained a power play chance when Matt Harding was whistled for roughing. Chad Herron provided the assist.

Guelph forced Cambridge goalie Owen Savory to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Guelph also got a goal from Brooker Muir as well. Other players who recorded assists for Guelph were Michael Courvoisier, who had two and Patrick Kudla, Craig Martini, and Ryan Migliaccio, who contributed one each.

The Winter Hawks' offense rang up 31 shots on the Hurricanes' net.

Cambridge was led by Phil Caputo, who scored the team's only goal. Caputo scored on the power play 16:42 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Guelph. The Winter Hawks had taken the advantage when Guelph's Jordan Hatzinger got sent off for interference.

The Hurricanes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Owen Savory made 30 saves for Cambridge on 33 shots. The Winter Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
