Huge game by Coulter boosts Elmira over Brantford, 9-3Gretzky Main Rink Thu, Nov 13, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Elmira Sugar Kings' Zac Coulter had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-3 win over the Brantford 99ers. Coulter's tallies came at 10:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Elmira and on the power play 2:30 into the third to make the score 6-2 Elmira.Brantford's nine penalties came back to haunt it, as the 99ers let up five goals while on the penalty kill. Elmira kept Brantford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jack Moylan made 40 saves on 49 shots. The Sugar Kings surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Elmira has scored at the pace of 4.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Elmira also got points from Eric Palazzolo, who also had one goal and one assist, Mac Clutsam, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Mitch Wright, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Elmira included Rob Kohli, who had two and Jamie Huber and Klayton Hoelscher, who each put in one. In addition, Elmira received assists from Mitch Klie, who had four, Adam Brubacher, Ethan Skinner, Cash Seraphim, and Jonathan Reinhart, who contributed one each, and Mitch Montgomery and Connor Hall, who each chipped in two. The 99ers forced Sugar Kings' goaltenders to work without much rest, finishing with 38 shots and forcing 35 saves. Reinhart made 27 stops and Andrew Lefebvre made eight. Brantford was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. The 99ers were helped by Zander Pryor, who registered one goal. Pryor scored 10:35 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Elmira. Nolan Ferris provided the assist. Brantford additionally got points from Guy Polillo, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brantford also got a goal from Matthew Woods as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brantford were David Storey, Christian Polillo, Nathan Ferris, and Lucas Zitmanis, who contributed one each. The Sugar Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Elmira, Brendan Schneider was ejected from the game. Brantford registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
