The Leamington Flyers, which found themselves down a man often, weathered the London Nationals' power play opportunities and emerged with a 5-2 victory. Leamington was sparked by Zack Guilbeault, who grabbed one goal. Guilbeault scored on the power play 3:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. The Flyers had taken the advantage when London's Derek Di Iorio got sent off for boarding. Cale Allen assisted on the tally. Leamington forced Nationals' netminders to work between the pipes, launching 43 shots and forcing 38 saves. Justin Tugwell made 17 stops and Logan Ferrington made 21. The Flyers found themselves short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. Leamington additionally got points from Ryan Muzzin, who also had one goal and one assist, Matthew Opblinger, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Kyle Quick, who also registered one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Tyler Scott as well. More assists for Leamington came via Tyler Duarte, Colin Moore, and Chris Scott, who each chipped in one. The Nationals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 23 penalty minutes. Trevor Wheaton rejected 20 shots on goal for Leamington. The Flyers registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Team's Blaine Bechard and Moore were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. For London, Trevor Dulong was ejected from the game.
