Dylan Pietrangelo made 26 saves to complete the shutout and led the Niagara Falls Canucks to a 4-0 win against the Welland Jr. Canadians. Colton Anstey had a great game for Niagara Falls, netting two goals. Anstey found the back of the net 8:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Niagara Falls and again while 18:16 into the third to make the score 4-0 Niagara Falls. The Canucks stifled Welland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Niagara Falls' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Canucks finished with 26 penalty minutes. Niagara Falls additionally got points from Nigel Slade, who also had one goal and one assist and Trevor Simonick, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Frank Pucci and Kevin Millejours, who each chipped in one and Zack Lansfield and Austin Wright, who contributed two each. The Jr. Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Niagara Falls to score on any of its four power plays. Welland was held below its usual level of production. The Jr. Canadians put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Welland's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Jr. Canadians are averaging 1.9 goal against for the season. Brandon McCorriston rejected 20 shots on goal for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Welland, Tyler Stranges was ejected from the game.
