Strathroy rips LaSalle, 5-2

The LaSalle Vipers had trouble finding ways to stop the Strathroy Rockets, which beat Vipers, 5-2.

Brett Dalton had a great game for Strathroy, netting two goals. Dalton found the back of the net 19:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Strathroy and again while on the power play 6:50 into the third to make the score 4-1 Strathroy.

The Rockets' offense rang up 35 shots on LaSalle's net.

Strathroy also got points from Dan Chapman, who also had one goal and one assist. Strathroy also had goals scored by Nick Griffin and Sam Vokes, who each put in one. More assists for Strathroy came via Kurtis Sander and Eddie Schulz, who contributed one each and Jack Kilgour, Stuart King, and Nick Boyer, who each chipped in two.

The Vipers forced Strathroy goalie Mat Ouellet to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

LaSalle was led by Brett Primeau, who tallied one goal. Primeau scored on the power play 18:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Strathroy. The Vipers had gained a power play chance when Schulz was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct. Manny Silverio assisted on the tally. Kyler Carter also scored for LaSalle.

The Rockets' Ouellet stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Strathroy incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Eli Billing rejected 30 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
