Brayden Stortz tallied one point to lead the Welland Jr. Canadians to a 5-0 victory over the Fort Erie Meteors. Welland forced Fort Erie's netminders to work without much rest, ripping 35 shots and forcing 30 saves. Liam Conway made 24 stops and Sebastian Iannone made six. The Jr. Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Meteors to score on any of their five power plays. Welland's defense was surprisingly good. The Jr. Canadians allow 2.1 goals per game. Welland additionally got points from Jack Fitzgerald, who also registered one goal and one assist. Welland also had goals scored by Riley Mocha, Damien Lalonde, and Jake Shaw, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Welland were Nathan MacDuff, who had two and Cristian DiFonzo, Mitch Reid, Thomas Flack, and JC Thivierge, who contributed one each. Fort Erie did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Meteors put an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game. Fort Erie could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 54 minutes in penalties during the game. Chris Janzen rejected 21 shots on goal for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Welland ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jeremy Hopkins was ejected from the game.
