Zach Grzelewski netted a hat trick to lead the St. Thomas Stars over the Sarnia Legionnaires, 7-4. Grzelewski's first goal came 19:00 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:58 into the third and at 16:23 into the third.Sarnia fell victim to a deadly St. Thomas power play, which ripped the Legionnaires for four goals. The Stars forced Sarnia goalie Cornel Felder to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. St. Thomas found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Stars have scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign. The Legionnaires were helped by Riley Babkirk, who registered one goal and two assists. Babkirk scored on the power play 1:48 into the third period to make the score 4-3 St. Thomas. Sarnia had gained a power play chance when Truax was whistled for hooking. Cody Trowell provided the assist. Sarnia also got points from Ryan Vendramin, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Cameron Clarke, who also had one goal and one assist. Jordan Fogarty also scored for Sarnia. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Brad Campbell, who had one. The Stars' Nikolas Dampier stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. St. Thomas incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cornel Felder made 43 saves for the Legionnaires on 50 shots. Sarnia registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
