Anton Trublin had one point to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 5-2 victory over the Welland Jr. Canadians. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:36 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Welland was unable to stop Caledonia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Corvairs eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Caledonia additionally got points from Kyle Tanev, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Matthew Hore, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Caledonia also had goals scored by Nathan Gomes and Cosimo Fontana, who scored one goal each. More assists for Caledonia came via Connor Patton, Kevin Entmaa, and Jacob Buch, who each chipped in one and Connor Bramwell and Tyler Lepore, who contributed two each. The Jr. Canadians forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. Welland had been averaging 18.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Jr. Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Welland forced Caledonia goalie Entmaa to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Jr. Canadians' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Welland is averaging 1.9 goal against for the season. The Jr. Canadians were led by Josh Allan, who registered one goal and one assist. Allan scored on the power play 4:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Welland. Welland earned a power play opportunity when Austin McEneny was put in the box for cross checking. Brayden Stortz picked up the assist. Welland also got a goal from Matt Cuglietta as well. Other players who recorded assists for Welland were Jack Fitzgerald and JC Thivierge, who each chipped in one. Entmaa recorded 29 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Team's Justin Abraham and Lepore were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Chris Janzen made 40 saves for the Jr. Canadians on 45 shots. Welland registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Jr. Canadians ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andy Paul was ejected from the game.
