Ferrington stymies St. Marys, London wins 3-1

The London Nationals relied on the sparkling performance of Logan Ferrington in net to grab a 3-1 win against the St. Marys Lincolns.

London pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 53 penalty minutes.

The Nationals were led by Austin Kemp, who grabbed one goal. Kemp scored 25 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 London. Scott Goodman picked up the assist.

London forced St. Marys goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

London also had goals scored by Derek Todosichuk and Matt Bean, who scored one goal each. In addition, London received assists from Justin Murray, Mitchell Kreis, Andrew Kim, Colin Wilson, and Drew Worrad, who contributed one each.

The Lincolns kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ferrington made 32 saves on 33 shots. Team could not crack London's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage. St. Marys could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Lincolns were led by Rai Di Loreto, who scored the team's only goal. Di Loreto scored on the power play 13:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. St. Marys had taken the advantage when the Nationals' Trevor Dulong got sent off for slashing. Nathan Smith assisted on the tally.

London registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. For the Nationals, Todosichuk was ejected from the game. Andrew Masters made 35 saves for the Lincolns on 38 shots. St. Marys ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and CJ Griffith was ejected from the game.
