The Listowel Cyclones' Riley Robertson scored 22 seconds into overtime to beat the Cambridge Winter Hawks, 5-4 (OT). Cambridge could not complete its climb out of a three-goal hole. Listowel made it 4-1 on a goal by Ben Shelley at 17:38 in the second period. The Winter Hawks pulled to within 4-3 on a goal by Emmerson Small at 9:43 in the third period. The Cyclones were sparked by Robertson, who tallied one goal. Listowel forced Winter Hawks' goalies to work between the pipes, firing 48 shots and forcing 43 saves. Owen Savory made 19 stops and Lucas Machalski made 24. Penalties took their toll on the Cyclones, as their penalty kill unit let in two power play goals. Listowel additionally got points from Shelley, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Listowel included Broedy Karelse, Caleb Warren, and Ben VanOotegham, who scored one goal each. In addition, Listowel received assists from Derek Elliot, who had two and Tim Nauta and Brad Yowart, who each chipped in one. Cambridge was helped by Alex Bottigoni, who grabbed one goal. Bottigoni scored on the power play 13:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Listowel. The Winter Hawks had taken the advantage when Listowel's Blake Pickering got sent off for high sticking. Maxime Lamontagne picked up the assist. Cambridge also got points from Devin Shell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Stephen Jablonski also scored for Cambridge. More assists for Cambridge came via Phil Caputo, who had two. Ryan Hergott made 23 saves for the Cyclones on 27 shots. Listowel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cambridge incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Winter Hawks, Zach Magwood was ejected from the game.
