Brantford uses shootout to best Brampton, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brantford 99ers defeated the Brampton Bombers in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Brampton's shootout goal was scored by Lucas Goodman. Brantford also got a shootout goal from Gus Ford.

The 99ers came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Brantford trailed 4-1 after a power play goal by the Bombers' Goodman at 11:18 in the second period. The 99ers knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Ford at 8:10 in the third period.

Brampton was unable to stop Brantford from sending pucks towards the net, and the 99ers eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Team could not crack the Bombers' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 10 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Evan Bidenti also scored for Brantford. More assists for Brantford came via Zander Pryor, who had two and Nolan Ferris, Christian Polillo, Cole Cummings, Ryon Pereira, and Brett Parsons, who each chipped in one.

Brampton was helped by Jordan Crocker, who racked up one goal and one assist. Crocker scored 9:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Brampton. Austin Kozluk picked up the assist. Brampton additionally got points from Kozluk, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Brampton received assists from Sam Hisey, who had two and Robert Orlando, Nick Petropoulos, Kevin Bray, and Brad Bollert, who contributed one each.

Jack Moylan made 26 saves for Brantford on 30 shots. The 99ers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Bombers' Shane Dietl stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Brampton incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
