Caledonia downs Ancaster, 6-2Haldimand Center Fri, Oct 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Todd Ratchford registered one point to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 6-2 victory over the Ancaster Avalanche. Caledonia forced Ancaster's netminders to work without much rest, totaling 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Matt Calas made 43 stops and Matthew Venturelli made one. The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Caledonia additionally got points from Connor Patton, who also had one goal and one assist and Jake Brown, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Jordan Peacock as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Connor Bramwell, Cosimo Fontana, Matthew Hore, and Anton Trublin, who each chipped in one and Kyle Tanev, Mitch Purdie, and Jacob Buch, who contributed two each. The Avalanche stifled Caledonia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ancaster's offense was handcuffed by the Corvairs' defensive play, and the Avalanche managed only 12 shots on goal during the game. Ancaster was led by Owen Burnell, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Burnell scored 12:10 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Caledonia. Ryan Knill assisted on the tally. Ben Hughes also scored for Ancaster. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Zach Maciel, who had one. Caledonia's Brendan Polasek stopped 10 shots out of the 12 that he faced. The Corvairs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Avalanche incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
