Elmira holds on for 4-3 win against KitchenerDan Snyder Memorial Sun, Oct 26, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kitchener Dutchmen tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Elmira Sugar Kings would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Elmira took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Kitchener storm back on a Connor Cole goal 18:41 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Sugar Kings got the win thanks to a great game by Zac Coulter, who had two goals and one assist. Coulter scored the first of his two goals at 6:18 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. Adam Brubacher assisted on the tally. Coulter's next tally made the score 3-1 Elmira with 19:14 left in the third period. Mac Clutsam picked up the assist. Elmira forced the Dutchmen goalie Jackson McIntosh to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Elmira also got points from Mitch Wright, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Elmira also got a goal from Cash Seraphim as well. More assists for Elmira came via Ethan Skinner and Mitch Klie, who contributed one each. Others who scored for Kitchener included Nick Trecroce and Jacob Cascagnette, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Philip Moser, who had two and Sean Allen, Keegan Calder, Jordan Delaurier, and Adam Kawalec, who each chipped in one. Jonathan Reinhart rejected 23 shots on goal for the Sugar Kings. Elmira incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. McIntosh recorded 30 saves for Kitchener. The Dutchmen incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
