Stratford survives Listowel comeback, wins 3-2

The Listowel Cyclones tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Stratford Cullitons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Stratford made the score 3-1 on a goal by Hayden Broomhead at 6:37 in the third period, and Listowel got as close as 3-2 when Ben VanOotegham scored 19:54 into the third period.

Broomhead was all over the ice for the Cullitons, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Stratford forced the Cyclones goalie Tyler Fassl to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Cullitons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stratford also got a goal from Trevor Sauder as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Mitch Brooks, who had two and Josh Miller, Carter Allen, Deven Kropf, and Jeff McArdle, who each chipped in one.

Blake Pickering also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Tim Nauta, who had one and Brad Yowart, who had two.

Nicholas Caldwell rejected 21 shots on goal for Stratford. The Cullitons registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Tyler Fassl made 29 saves for Listowel on 32 shots. The Cyclones incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
