The Chatham Maroons could not hold down the London Nationals, and Nationals erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 7-6 win. London let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Nationals took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Derek Todosichuk at 53 seconds in the first period. London found itself down 6-4 after Chatham's Alexander Morgan put the puck home at 2:20 in the third period. After tying things up at 6-6 on a goal by Anthony Kotsovos at 5:42 in the third, the Nationals got the game-winner from Drew Worrad at 13:44 in the third period. London got the win thanks to a great game by Worrad, who had two goals and three assists. Worrad scored the first of his two goals at 19:34 into the first period to make the score 2-1 London. Todosichuk provided the assist. Worrad's next tally made the score 7-6 London with 6:16 left in the third period. A unsportsmanlike conduct call on Todosichuk put the Nationals on the penalty kill. Justin Murray picked up the assist. London surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Nationals average 2.9 goals per game. London also got points from Tanner Ferreira, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Todosichuk, who also finished with two goals and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for London were Matt Bean, who had one and Scott Goodman and Ryan Martin, who each chipped in two. The Maroons put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow London to score on any of its three power plays. Chatham's offense rang up 45 shots on the Nationals' net. Chatham additionally got points from Jared Dennis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Chatham included Trevor Richardson, Steven Szekesy, and Brennan Feasey, who scored one goal each. In addition, Chatham received assists from Connor Annett, who had two, Connor McKinnon, Carl Stapleton, and Levi Tetrault, who contributed one each, and Brayden Hopkins and Michael Verboom, who each chipped in three. Justin Tugwell made 39 saves for London on 45 shots. The Nationals incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Bo Bessette recorded 21 saves for the Maroons. Chatham incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
