Kitchener beats Listowel 4-2 after comeback scareKinsmen Arena Sun, Oct 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Listowel Cyclones tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Kitchener Dutchmen would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Kitchener made the score 4-0 on a goal by Connor Cole at 9:50 in the second period, and Listowel got as close as 4-2 when Derek Elliot scored 13:11 into the third period. The Cyclones were unable to stop the Dutchmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Kitchener eventually piled up 38 shots on goal. The Dutchmen were helped by Alex Demrovsky, who finished with one goal. Demrovsky scored 7:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kitchener. Jeremy Kuehn assisted on the tally. Kitchener also got points from Austin Gaboury, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kitchener also got a goal from Jordan Delaurier as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Philip Moser, Mitchell Smith, Jacob Cascagnette, and Adam Kawalec, who each chipped in one. Listowel's offense rang up 33 shots on Kitchener's net. Ben VanOotegham also scored for Listowel. In addition, Listowel received assists from Tim Nauta, who had two and Brad Yowart and Ben Shelley, who contributed one each. David Lobsinger rejected 31 shots on goal for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tyler Fassl recorded 34 saves for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
