Huge game by Kudla boosts Guelph over Stratford, 4-0

Patrick Kudla had one goal and two assists to lead the Guelph Hurricanes to a 4-0 victory over the Stratford Cullitons.

Kudla got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 7:15 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. A high sticking penalty on Patrick McKelvie had put Guelph on the power play. Brooker Muir provided the assist. Kudla dished an assist on Peyton Backus's goal that made the score 2-0 Guelph at 7:22 into the third period. He added another helper on Craig Martini's goal that made the score 4-0 Guelph at 19:31 into the third period.

The Hurricanes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Guelph kept Stratford's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Caldwell made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Guelph also got points from Martini, who also had one goal and one assist and Muir, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. More assists for Guelph came via Michael Courvoisier, who had two.

The Cullitons did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Stratford puts an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. The Cullitons were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 30 penalty minutes.

The Hurricanes' Jeremie Lintner stopped 22 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Guelph incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
