Huge game by MacAulay boosts Strathroy over St. Marys, 5-2

The Strathroy Rockets' Mark MacAulay had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the St. Marys Lincolns.

MacAulay beat Andrew Masters with a shot 10:00 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Strathroy. Kurtis Sander picked up the assist. MacAulay dished an assist on Brett Dalton's goal that made the score 1-0 Strathroy at 10:40 into the first period. He added another helper on Dan Chapman's goal that made the score 3-2 Strathroy at 5:57 into the third period.

Strathroy's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four St. Marys power plays. The Rockets' offense rang up 44 shots on St. Marys' net. Strathroy's goal total was higher than its season average. The Rockets average 2.7 goals per game.

Strathroy also got points from Nick Boyer, who also had one goal and one assist. Tyler Duarte also scored for Strathroy. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Dalton Good, Nick Whitworth, Nick Griffin, and Eddie Schulz, who each chipped in one.

The Lincolns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

St. Marys was helped by Graham Brulotte, who registered one goal. Brulotte scored 5:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Strathroy. Sean O`Brien provided the assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Colin Nancekivell as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Evan Krassey and Chace Duckworth, who contributed one each.

Mat Ouellet recorded 22 saves for Strathroy. The Rockets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Lincolns' Masters stopped 39 shots out of the 44 that he faced. St. Marys incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
