Behind a great game by Zach Grzelewski, who had four goals and one assist, the St. Thomas Stars defeated the Lambton Shores Predators, 6-2. Grzelewski's first goal came 11:35 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:48 into the second, at 1:26 into the third, and at 17:24 into the third.St. Thomas' penalty kill excelled, as the Stars gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. St. Thomas stifled Lambton Shores' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stars kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Harriman-Duke made 39 saves on 45 shots. St. Thomas surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Stars average 3.1 goals per game. St. Thomas additionally got points from John Warren, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Andrew Chambers, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Dane Johnstone, who had two and Carson Moniz, Adam Truax, and Carter McCormick, who each chipped in one. Lambton Shores racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 71 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game the Predators had been spending in the box. Lambton Shores stifled St. Thomas' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Predators were led by Franco Sproveiro, who tallied one goal and one assist. Sproveiro scored 8:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. Ty Jackson picked up the assist. Brenden Trottier also scored for Lambton Shores. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Sean Ross, who had one. Nikolas Dampier took the win and made 22 saves before being replaced by Dan Black who made zero saves. The Stars totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-7 on the power play. Lambton Shores ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brent Hammett was ejected from the game.
