Ancaster holds on for 3-2 win against Fort ErieMorgan Firestone Thu, Oct 16, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ancaster Avalanche survived a determined comeback attempt by the Fort Erie Meteors on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Cole Nagy put Ancaster up 3-1 in the third period, but Fort Erie pulled to within one on Dalton Tartaglia's tally 18:21 into the third period. Blake Luscombe had one goal and two assists to lead the Avalanche. Luscombe scored 14:45 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ancaster. Lucas Pozzobon assisted on the tally. Ancaster stifled the Meteors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Ancaster also got points from Cooper Richards, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Fort Erie was helped by Romaeo D Intino, who had one goal. D Intino scored 3:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fort Erie. Holden Garlent picked up the assist. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Jeff Avolio and Devin Darrah, who contributed one each. The Avalanche's Blake Richard stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Ancaster incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Liam Conway recorded 23 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
