The Sarnia Legionnaires opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 12-4 win over the St. Marys Lincolns. Sarnia got the win thanks to a great game by Kyler Keating, who had two goals and two assists. Keating scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:20 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Sarnia. The Legionnaires had gotten the advantage when St. Marys' Jake Alkins was sent off for holding. Ryan Vendramin provided the assist. Keating's next tally on the power play made the score 12-4 Sarnia with 21 seconds left in the third period. Sarnia earned a power play opportunity when Sean O`Brien was put in the box for elbowing. PJ Vandervaart picked up the assist. The Lincolns' six penalties came back to haunt them, as St. Marys let up four goals while on the penalty kill. The Legionnaires kept the Lincolns' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Beattie made 40 saves on 52 shots. Sarnia surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Legionnaires average 6.7 goals per contest. Sarnia's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. The Legionnaires struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. Sarnia also got points from Vendramin, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Davis Boyer, who also had two goals and one assist, Jordan Fogarty, who also registered one goal and two assists, Bobby King, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Cameron Clarke, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Riley Roberts also scored for Sarnia. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Jake O`Donnell, who had three, Brad Campbell, Tyler Longo, Cody Trowell, Nathan Mater, and Tyler Prong, who contributed one each, and Jay Clarke and Riley Babkirk, who each chipped in two. St. Marys found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Lincolns average 1.8 goal per game. St. Marys was helped by Graham Brulotte, who had one goal. Brulotte scored 9:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Chace Duckworth assisted on the tally. St. Marys additionally got points from Jared Lindsay, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Colin Nancekivell, who had two and Mitch Read and Jordan Winter, who contributed one each. Cornel Felder made 25 saves for Sarnia on 29 shots. The Lincolns incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
