Matthew Opblinger registered two points to lead the Leamington Flyers to a 5-2 victory over the Chatham Maroons. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 10:26 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Leamington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Leamington also got points from Mitchell Amante, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Chris Scott, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Leamington included Kyle Quick and Kyle Perkowski, who scored one goal each. In addition, Leamington received assists from Eric Henderson and Zak Parlette, who contributed one each. Chatham was held below its usual level of production. The Maroons average 4.2 goals per game. The Flyers were unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Chatham was led by Mark Fratarcangelli, who had one goal and one assist. Fratarcangelli scored 2:58 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Leamington. Steven Szekesy assisted on the tally. Dede Cato also scored for Chatham. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Levi Tetrault and Ian Faubert, who each chipped in one. Leamington's Trevor Wheaton stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Flyers totaled 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Team's Blaine Bechard and Alex Derksen were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Bo Bessette recorded 19 saves for the Maroons. Chatham ended with 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors. For the Maroons, Steven Beenackers and Michael Levesque were ejected from the contest.
