Kenny's goals lift Fort Erie to 6-3 victory over Pelham

Behind a great game by Wade Kenny, who had two goals, the Fort Erie Meteors defeated the Pelham Pirates, 6-3.

Kenny found the back of the net on the power play 1:01 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Fort Erie and again while on the power play 16:51 into the third to make the score 5-3 Fort Erie.

Fort Erie bested its season scoring average. The Meteors have scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Fort Erie could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 38 minutes in penalties during the game.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Mackenzie Passero, who also had one goal and two assists and Devin Darrah, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Fort Erie also had goals scored by Hurren Alex and Romaeo D Intino, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Bryce Martin, who had two and Dakota Miskolczi, Delcan Conway, and Richard DeMarco, who contributed one each.

The Meteors were unable to stop Pelham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Pirates eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Pelham was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of 10 man advantages.

The Pirates were led by Anthony Sorrentino, who finished with one goal and two assists. Sorrentino scored on the power play 18:59 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Pelham had taken the advantage when Fort Erie's Josh Micallef got sent off for roughing. Brock Ackerman provided the assist. Pelham also got points from Shawn Rooke, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ackerman, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Pelham came via Daniel Volpatti and Cody LeVasseur, who each chipped in one.

Liam Conway made 43 saves for the Meteors on 46 shots. Fort Erie registered two goals on four power play opportunities. For the Meteors, Dalton Tartaglia and Miskolczi were ejected from the contest. The Pirates' Matthew Camilleri stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Pelham incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Team's Rooke and Dayne Johnson were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
