Dampier leads St. Thomas to shutout victory over Lambton Shores

The St. Thomas Stars used a sparkling performance by Nikolas Dampier to take down the Lambton Shores Predators, as the netminder did not allow a goal in St. Thomas' 5-0 shutout victory.

The Stars' penalty kill excelled, as St. Thomas gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Stars were led by Spencer Hutchinson, who tallied one goal. Hutchinson scored 15:04 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas.

St. Thomas stifled Lambton Shores' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Stars kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Harriman-Duke made 45 saves on 50 shots. St. Thomas could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

St. Thomas also got points from John Warren, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Zach Grzelewski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for St. Thomas included Anders Adzija and Carson Brookshaw, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Thomas came via Carson Moniz, who had one and Dane Johnstone, who had two.

Lambton Shores racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Predators surpassed its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. Lambton Shores could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Predators put an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game.

The Stars' Dampier stopped 29 shots out of the 29 that he faced. St. Thomas registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. For Lambton Shores, Brent Hammett was ejected from the game.
