St. Catharines pulls away in second, rolls over Pelham, 7-0

The Pelham Pirates allowed the St. Catharines Falcons to net four goals during the second period and fell, 7-0.

St. Catharines got the win with help from a great game by Devon Rymarchuk, who had two goals and two assists. Rymarchuk scored the first of his two goals at 7:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Rymarchuk's next tally made the score 4-0 St. Catharines with 5:39 left in the second period. Tyler Morrison provided the assist.

The Falcons were boosted by Zach Moore, who turned in a shutout with 27 saves.

St. Catharines forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and one major for 49 minutes in penalty time. The Falcons had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. St. Catharines forced Pelham's netminders to work in net, racking up 31 shots and forcing 24 saves. Matthew Camilleri made 16 stops and Daniel Kocsis made eight. The Falcons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 10 chances.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Morrison, who also finished with one goal and three assists. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Nick Halagian, who had two and Brady Cranwell and Paolo De Sousa, who each put in one. More assists for St. Catharines came via Cam Blakely, Manny Manns, and Nicholas Prestia, who contributed one each and Jake Evans and Brandon Cercone, who each chipped in two.

St. Catharines registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. For the Falcons, Jacob Parisotto was ejected from the game. The Pirates ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Pelham ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Schmalz was ejected from the game.
