The Brampton Bombers and the Elmira Sugar Kings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Brampton made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brandon Stapley secured the win for the Bombers with a goal in the second period.

Brampton got the win on the strength of a great game by Brad Bollert, who had one goal and two assists. Bollert scored on the power play 12:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Bombers had gotten the advantage when Elmira's Connor Hall was sent off for head contact. Robert Orlando assisted on the tally.

Brampton additionally got points from Orlando, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Kevin Bray, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brampton also got a goal from Carmine Vietri as well. In addition, Brampton received assists from Chris Ludwinski, who had one and Anton Bura, who had two.

The Bombers were unable to stop the Sugar Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Elmira eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

The Sugar Kings were helped by Brendan Schneider, who finished with one goal. Schneider scored 2:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. Klayton Hoelscher provided the assist. Shane Dietl made 46 saves for Brampton on 49 shots. The Bombers totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For Brampton, Ethan Morrison was ejected from the game. Jonathan Reinhart rejected 24 shots on goal for Elmira. The Sugar Kings ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Elmira ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kohli was ejected from the game.
