Lambton Shores squeaks by St. Marys, 4-2

The game between the Lambton Shores Predators and the St. Marys Lincolns was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Lambton Shores emerged with a 4-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Ty Jackson's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Predators were led by Jackson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Jackson scored 2:32 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Lambton Shores.

In a losing effort, St. Marys was sparked by Jake Alkins, who had two goals. Alkins scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. The Lincolns had taken the advantage when Lambton Shores' Mike Zottl got sent off for holding. Jared Lindsay provided the assist. Alkins' next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 10:39 left in the second period. St. Marys had gained a power play chance when Ryan Fraser was whistled for high sticking. Frasier Lewis assisted on the tally.

The Predators' offense rang up 31 shots on the Lincolns' net. Lambton Shores' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Predators finished with 28 penalty minutes.

Lambton Shores also got points from Drew Marlatt, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lambton Shores included Franco Sproveiro and Colin Burns, who scored one goal each. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Ethan Sarfati, who had two and Brent Hammett and Brenden Trottier, who contributed one each.

St. Marys forced Lambton Shores goalie Andrew Harriman-Duke to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Team could not crack the Predators' penalty kill and was held to two power play goals while having 12 opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Lincolns could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

In addition, St. Marys received assists from Colin Nancekivell and Rai Di Loreto, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Harriman-Duke made 37 saves for Lambton Shores on 39 shots. The Predators registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Andrew Masters recorded 27 saves for St. Marys. The Lincolns ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan Winter was ejected from the game.
