Ancaster downs Niagara Falls in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Ancaster Avalanche's Cooper Richards scored 2:45 into overtime to beat the Niagara Falls Canucks, 4-3 (OT).

Niagara Falls' power play was ineffective against Ancaster's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Ancaster also got a goal from Spencer Leenders as well. More assists for Ancaster came via Luke Zupan, Cole Nagy, and Ryan Cox, who contributed one each.

The Avalanche were unable to stop the Canucks from sending pucks towards the net, and Niagara Falls eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

The Canucks were led by Austin Wright, who had one goal and two assists. Wright scored on the power play 2:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls had taken the advantage when Ancaster's Nagy got sent off for high sticking. Zack Lansfield assisted on the tally. Niagara Falls additionally got points from Lansfield, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Sean Farquharson also scored for Niagara Falls. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Tanner Allen, who had one.

Blake Richards recorded 39 saves for the Avalanche. Ancaster incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Canucks' Dylan Pietrangelo stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Niagara Falls incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
