Pelham falls apart in second, loses to St. Catharines, 6-0

The Pelham Pirates allowed the St. Catharines Falcons to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-0.

Owen Peacock was all over the ice for St. Catharines, as he had two goals in the win. Peacock's tallies came at 16:22 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines and on the power play 7:26 into the third to make the score 5-0 St. Catharines.

Pelham was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Falcons were able to score four times while on the power play.

St. Catharines put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Pirates to score on any of their eight power plays. The Falcons' defense was surprisingly good. St. Catharines allows 2.2 goals per game. Pelham was unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

St. Catharines also got points from Ryan Doucette, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Justin Felker, Brady Cranwell, and Tyler Hildebrant, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Jake Evans, who had two and Jacob Parisotto, Scott Grieve, Brandon Cercone, Brett Brooker, Paolo De Sousa, and Jesse Anderson, who each chipped in one.

The Pirates' offense operated below their season average. Pelham puts an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game.

The Falcons' Zach Moore stopped 19 shots out of the 19 that he faced. St. Catharines incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Falcons, Nicholas Prestia was ejected from the game. Matthew Camilleri rejected 32 shots on goal for the Pirates. Pelham incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
