Fort Erie holds on for 3-2 win against PelhamPelham Meridian CC Tue, Sep 30, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Fort Erie Meteors survived a determined comeback attempt by the Pelham Pirates on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Paolo Sivolotti put Fort Erie up 3-1 in the third period, but Pelham pulled to within one on Anthony Sorrentino's tally 19:15 into the third period. The Meteors were led by Sivolotti, who grabbed one goal. Sivolotti scored 5:20 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fort Erie. Tristan Drescher assisted on the tally. Fort Erie additionally got points from Mackenzie Passero, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Fort Erie also got a goal from Christain Nati as well. More assists for Fort Erie came via Vincent Robbins, Matthew Matyi, and Wade Kenny, who contributed one each. The Pirates put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fort Erie to score on any of its four power plays. Jesse Hewak also scored for Pelham. In addition, Pelham received assists from Nick Carniello, Thomas Young, and Cody LeVasseur, who each chipped in one. Liam Conway made 24 saves for the Meteors on 26 shots. Fort Erie incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Daniel Kocsis rejected 27 shots on goal for Pelham. The Pirates incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pelham ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Schmalz was ejected from the game.
