Lambton Shores uses shootout to best Chatham, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lambton Shores Predators defeated the Chatham Maroons in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Chatham got a shootout goal from Trevor Richardson. Lambton Shores also got a shootout goal from Sean Ross.

The Predators came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lambton Shores was down 3-0 after a goal by the Maroons' Brennan Feasey at 3:17 in the second period. The Predators knotted things up at 4-4 on a goal by Franco Sproveiro at 17:13 in the third period.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Lambton Shores was led by Ryan Fraser, who had two goals and one assist. Fraser scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:07 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Chatham. The Predators had gotten the advantage when Chatham's Nate Pietens was sent off for tripping. Brett Corrigan provided the assist. Fraser's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 18:36 left in the third period. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Corrigan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Ethan Sarfati, who had two and Ty Jackson and Ross, who contributed one each.

The Maroons forced Lambton Shores goalie Andrew Harriman-Duke to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Brayden Hopkins also scored for Chatham. In addition, Chatham received assists from Michael Verboom, who had two, Richardson, who had three, and Connor Annett, Steven Szekesy, and Steven Beenackers, who each chipped in one.

Harriman-Duke recorded 37 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Chatham's Jacob Lucier stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Maroons incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
