Guelph falls to Elmira in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Cash Seraphim gave the Elmira Sugar Kings a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Guelph Hurricanes when he scored 4:08 into the extra period.

Elmira was led by Seraphim, who grabbed one goal.

The Sugar Kings stifled Guelph's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Elmira was held below its usual level of production. The Sugar Kings put an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game. Elmira kept the Hurricanes' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeremie Lintner made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Elmira also got a goal from Jamie Huber as well. In addition, Elmira received assists from Adam Brubacher, Rob Kohli, Mac Clutsam, and Steven Jakiela, who each chipped in one.

Guelph put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sugar Kings to score on any of their seven power plays. The Hurricanes' offense operated below their season average. Guelph averages 4.2 goals per game.

The Hurricanes were led by Chad Herron, who scored the team's only goal. Herron scored 14:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Giordano Finoro assisted on the tally.

Andrew Lefebvre made 16 saves for Elmira on 17 shots. The Sugar Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Elmira, Zac Coulter was ejected from the game. Guelph incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
