The St. Catharines Falcons were firing on all cylinders against the Thorold Blackhawks, and when the final buzzer sounded Falcons emerged with a 5-1 win. St. Catharines was led by goalie Jonathan D Ilario, who finished with 42 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of D Ilario will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.84. The Falcons were led by Tyler Hildebrant, who grabbed one goal. Hildebrant scored on the power play 16:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. St. Catharines had taken the advantage when Thorold's Nick Giancola got sent off for too many men. Brandon Cercone assisted on the tally. The Falcons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. St. Catharines' offense rang up 33 shots on the Blackhawks' net.
