Conway leads Fort Erie to shutout victory over Caledonia

Liam Conway was superb between the pipes for the Fort Erie Meteors, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over the Caledonia Corvairs.

Richard DeMarco's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 18:48 in the third period. Fort Erie had gotten the advantage when Caledonia's Jayme Forslund was sent off for holding. Devin Darrah picked up the assist.

The Meteors were led by DeMarco, who racked up one goal.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 2:59 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Fort Erie's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Caledonia power plays.

More assists for Fort Erie came via Riley Hollowell, who had one.

The Corvairs kept the Meteors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Conway made 39 saves on 39 shots.

Fort Erie totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Meteors, Dakota Miskolczi was ejected from the game. Brendan Polasek made 14 saves for Caledonia on 15 shots. The Corvairs ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Caledonia ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cam McConnell was ejected from the game.
