Huge game by Hanlon boosts Waterloo over Brampton, 6-1

The Waterloo Siskins' Danny Hanlon had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-1 win over the Brampton Bombers.

Hanlon scored at 8:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Waterloo and again while 15:28 into the first to make the score 2-0 Waterloo.

Waterloo's penalty kill excelled, as the Siskins gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

Brampton was unable to stop Waterloo from sending pucks towards the net, and the Siskins eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Waterloo's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Siskins finished with 28 penalty minutes.

Waterloo also got points from Luke Gazzola, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Chase Campbell, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Gary Mantz also scored for Waterloo. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Eric Cimino, Evan Kearns, Christian Mroczkowski, Jarrett Parker, Kyle Betts, Connor Bodnar, and Matt Romund, who contributed one each.

The Bombers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Waterloo power plays.

Bailey DeGasperis made 23 saves for Waterloo on 24 shots. The Siskins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cimino was ejected from the game. Jake Lawr rejected 34 shots on goal for Brampton. The Bombers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
