Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lambton Shores Predators defeated the St. Marys Lincolns in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.Lambton Shores forced St. Marys goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. The Predators were helped by Sean Ross, who finished with one goal. Ross scored 7:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores. Ty Jackson assisted on the tally. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Nick Sproveiro as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Brett Corrigan, who had one and Ryan Fraser, who had two. The Lincolns' offense rang up 32 shots on Lambton Shores' net. St. Marys was helped by Nathan Smith, who racked up one goal. Smith scored 27 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jake Alkins picked up the assist. St. Marys additionally got points from Alkins, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Jared Lindsay, Callum Ruddock, and Jordan Winter, who contributed one each. Andrew Harriman-Duke made 30 saves for the Predators on 32 shots. Lambton Shores incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Masters rejected 48 shots on goal for the Lincolns. St. Marys incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Lincolns, Jack Wieringa was ejected from the game.
