Listowel downs Cambridge, 4-1

Blake Nichol finished with one point to lead the Listowel Cyclones to a 4-1 victory over the Cambridge Winter Hawks.

Listowel's offense rang up 33 shots on Cambridge's net. The Cyclones got their opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of their 14 chances.

Listowel also had goals scored by Broedy Karelse, Tim Nauta, and Kevin Gergley, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Chad Lemire, who had two and Riley Robertson, Ray McFalls, and Ben VanOotegham, who contributed one each.

The Winter Hawks stifled Listowel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cambridge was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 50 penalty minutes.

The Winter Hawks were led by Maxime Lamontagne, who scored the team's only goal. Lamontagne scored 12:32 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Phil Caputo picked up the assist.

Tyler Fassl made 21 saves for the Cyclones on 22 shots. Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Owen Savory rejected 29 shots on goal for Cambridge. The Winter Hawks registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
