Listowel holds on for 2-1 win against Kitchener

The Kitchener Dutchmen tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Listowel Cyclones would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

Listowel made the score 2-0 on a goal by Chayse Herrfort at 4:32 in the third period, and Kitchener got as close as 2-1 when Jordan Delaurier scored 6:13 into the third period.

Herrfort had two goals to lead the Cyclones to victory.

Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Caleb Warren, who had two and Keaton Willis and Blake Pickering, who each chipped in one.

The Dutchmen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Listowel power plays.

More assists for Kitchener came via Jackson McIntosh, who had one.

Ryan Hergott recorded 29 saves for Listowel. The Cyclones incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kitchener's McIntosh stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Dutchmen incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
