Elmira blows out Brampton, 8-2Powerade Centre Fri, Sep 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Elmira Sugar Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-2 win over the Brampton Bombers. Eric Palazzolo had one goal and two assists to lead Elmira. Palazzolo scored on the power play 4:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. The Sugar Kings earned a power play opportunity when Jordan Crocker was put in the box for high sticking. Mitch Klie provided the assist. Brampton's power play was ineffective against Elmira's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Sugar Kings stifled the Bombers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Elmira could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Elmira also got points from Klie, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Klayton Hoelscher, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Cash Seraphim, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Mitch Wright, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Elmira also got a goal from Ethan Skinner as well. In addition, Elmira received assists from Adam Brubacher, who had two, Mac Clutsam, who had three, and Sam Harris, Brodie Whitehead, and Zac Coulter, who each chipped in one. Brampton found itself short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing 13 power plays. The Bombers were led by Chris Arsenault, who registered one goal. Arsenault scored 16:28 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Elmira. Nick Petropoulos assisted on the tally. Greg Wilson also scored for Brampton. More assists for Brampton came via Ethan Morrison and Mitchell Byrne, who contributed one each. Andrew Lefebvre rejected 27 shots on goal for the Sugar Kings. Brampton took out Jake Lawr after he had made 19 saves and installed Shane Dietl in goal, where he finished with two saves and the loss. For the Bombers, Chris Ludwinski was ejected from the game.
