The London Nationals tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Sarnia Legionnaires held on for a 3-2 victory. Sarnia made the score 3-0 on a goal by Cody Trowell at 19:34 in the second period, and London got as close as 3-2 when Austin Kemp scored 17:38 into the third period. The Legionnaires were sparked by Cameron Clarke, who registered one goal. Clarke scored on the power play 15:42 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Sarnia. Sarnia had taken the advantage when the Nationals' Kyle L Robinson got sent off for inciting an opponent. Riley Roberts picked up the assist. The Legionnaires' offense operated below their season average. Sarnia averages 5.8 goals per game. London was unable to stop the Legionnaires from sending pucks towards the net, and Sarnia eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Legionnaires were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes.
