Leamington completes comeback, beats Chatham, 4-3

The Leamington Flyers climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Chatham Maroons, 4-3.

Leamington never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Flyers was down 3-1 after a goal by Chatham's Michael Verboom at 13:30 in the third period. Leamington tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Protest Goal at 20:00 in the third period. The Flyers scored the game winner at 20:00 in the third period on a goal by Goal.

Leamington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Flyers kept the Maroons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Bo Bessette made 39 saves on 43 shots.

Leamington also got a goal from Kyle Perkowski as well.

Leamington was unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Chatham struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 34 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays.

The Maroons were led by Brennan Feasey, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Feasey scored 28 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chatham. Alexander Morgan provided the assist. Chatham additionally got points from Verboom, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ian Faubert also scored for Chatham. More assists for Chatham came via Trevor Richardson, Jared Dennis, and Steven Szekesy, who contributed one each.

Trevor Wheaton made 28 saves for the Flyers on 31 shots. Leamington incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Chatham, Morgan was ejected from the game.
