Fort Erie survives Pelham comeback, wins 4-3

The Pelham Pirates tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Fort Erie Meteors held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Romaeo D Intino put Fort Erie up 3-0 in the second period, but Pelham pulled to within one on Anthony Sorrentino's tally 10:22 into the third period.

The Meteors were led by Delcan Conway, who had one goal. Conway scored 15:28 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Fort Erie. Riley Hollowell provided the assist.

The Pirates were unable to stop Fort Erie from sending pucks towards the net, and the Meteors eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Bryce Martin also scored for Fort Erie. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Wade Kenny, who had two, Richard DeMarco, who had three, and Holden Garlent and Josh Micallef, who contributed one each.

Pelham's offense rang up 35 shots on Fort Erie's net. The Pirates found themselves short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays.

Pelham also had goals scored by Shawn Rooke and Connor Schmalz, who scored one goal each. More assists for Pelham came via Brock Ackerman, who had one and Jesse Hewak and Riley O Connell, who contributed two each.

Liam Conway recorded 32 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Pelham's Daniel Kocsis stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. The Pirates registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
