Caledonia wins tough contest against St. Catharines, 3-2

The Caledonia Corvairs and the St. Catharines Falcons were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Caledonia made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Connor Bramwell secured the win for the Corvairs with a goal in the third period.

Caledonia was led by Bramwell, who tallied one goal. Bramwell scored 18:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Caledonia. Tyler Lepore provided the assist.

The Corvairs were sparked by Bramwell, who registered one goal.

Caledonia's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Catharines power plays. The Corvairs forced St. Catharines goalie Jonathan D Ilario to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Caledonia also had goals scored by Jordan Peacock and Cosimo Fontana, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Scott Dorian, Nathan Gomes, Jake Brown, Matthew Hore, and Austin McEneny, who each chipped in one.

The Falcons excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

St. Catharines was helped by Tyler Morrison, who tallied two goals. Morrison scored the first of his two goals at 18:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Doucette picked up the assist. Morrison's next tally made the score 2-2 with 3:01 left in the third period. Doucette provided the assist. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Tyler Jackson and Devon Rymarchuk, who contributed one each.

Caledonia's Kevin Entmaa stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Corvairs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Caledonia, Justin Abraham was ejected from the game. Jonathan D Ilario made 31 saves for the Falcons on 34 shots. St. Catharines incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
