Huge game by Ingram boosts Fresno Monsters over Las Vegas Storm, 7-3

Fresno Monsters' Evan Ingram had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 7-3 win over Las Vegas Storm.

Ingram found the back of the net 10:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fresno Monsters and again while 12:34 into the third to make the score 6-3 Fresno Monsters.

Fresno Monsters did not rack up many penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. Fresno Monsters ended up below its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. Fresno Monsters' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Las Vegas Storm power plays. Las Vegas Storm was unable to stop Fresno Monsters from sending pucks towards the net, and Fresno Monsters eventually piled up 63 shots on goal.

Fresno Monsters additionally got points from Jacob Haynes, who also finished with three goals and one assist, Owen Sikich, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Gianmarco Guidon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Mike Nolan, who had two and Dan Fitzgerald, Michael Freeman, Kyle Jelinski, Jonathan Bengtsson, and Conner Osborne, who contributed one each.

Las Vegas Storm forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 25 minutes in penalty time. Las Vegas Storm had been averaging 22.0 minutes in penalties per game. Las Vegas Storm put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Fresno Monsters to score on any of its seven power plays. Las Vegas Storm's offense was handcuffed by Fresno Monsters' defensive play, and Las Vegas Storm managed only 11 shots on goal during the game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Las Vegas Storm was helped by Trevin Morgan, who grabbed one goal. Morgan scored 11:17 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Fresno Monsters. Jake McKenna assisted on the tally. Alkhas Kochkarev also scored for Las Vegas Storm. More assists for Las Vegas Storm came via Nikita Larionov, Nikita Tsvetov, and Nathan Fournier, who each chipped in one.

Fresno Monsters' Austin Piquette stopped eight shots out of the 11 that he faced. Patrik Jokela recorded 56 saves for Las Vegas Storm.
