Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Butte Cobras defeated Seattle Totems in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.Butte Cobras kept Seattle Totems' goalie busy throughout the game, and Anton Vigre made 58 saves on 62 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Butte Cobras was helped by Zach Steuck, who had one goal. Steuck scored on the power play 14:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Butte Cobras. Butte Cobras had taken the advantage when Seattle Totems' Gunnar Forseth got sent off for interference. Dzmitry Daniliuk picked up the assist. Butte Cobras also got points from Daniliuk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Chadd Lounder also scored for Butte Cobras. Other players who recorded assists for Butte Cobras were James Kilgore, who had two and Noakes Gordon, Morgan Reiner, and Nick Wrobel, who contributed one each. Butte Cobras was unable to stop Seattle Totems from sending pucks towards the net, and Seattle Totems eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Seattle Totems was led by August Cnattingius, who registered one goal and one assist. Cnattingius scored 4:48 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Braden Stratton provided the assist. Butte Cobras totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-1 on the power play. Seattle Totems totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
