Ingram nets hat trick, leads Fresno Monsters to 7-2 win over Ontario AvalancheGateway IC Thu, Feb 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Evan Ingram netted a hat trick to lead Fresno Monsters over Ontario Avalanche, 7-2. Ingram notched his first tally 13:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:41 into the second and at 15:05 into the second.Fresno Monsters led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring three goals in the second. Fresno Monsters pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 33 penalty minutes. Fresno Monsters forced Ontario Avalanche's goalies to work without much rest, taking 38 shots and forcing 31 saves. Chris Skeates made 21 stops and Daniel Cepila made 10. Fresno Monsters' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Ontario Avalanche power plays. Fresno Monsters additionally got points from Mike Nolan, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Conner Hyden, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Fresno Monsters included Jacob Haynes and Conner Osborne, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fresno Monsters were Brantt Heble, Carter Dahl, Michael Freeman, Daniel Goodwin, and Gianmarco Guidon, who each chipped in one and Dan Fitzgerald, Mark Shroyer, and Jonathan Bengtsson, who contributed two each. Ontario Avalanche's offense operated below its season average. Ontario Avalanche averages 4.1 goals per game. Fresno Monsters was unable to stop Ontario Avalanche from sending pucks towards the net, and Ontario Avalanche eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Ontario Avalanche's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Ontario Avalanche finished with 28 penalty minutes. Ontario Avalanche was led by Marc Janisch, who tallied one goal. Janisch scored 9:39 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nick Anderson assisted on the tally. Zechariah Roberts also scored for Ontario Avalanche. In addition, Ontario Avalanche received assists from Basil Reynolds and Antoine Maillard, who each chipped in one. Fresno Monsters' Nathan Churchill stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Fresno Monsters registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
